All kids love trains. It started years ago with "The Little Engine that Could and evolved to "Thomas the Train." Trains themes make great parties. You can find loads of decorations on the market to fit your Toddler Train party theme. And the kids will love them.

You can purchase invitations that are shaped like a train and appropriate for the specific train theme you have in mind. Even old-fashioned steam engines make a fascinating setting and theme for little ones who are filled with imagination. You do not need to go overboard on the decorations for a train themed party in order to get the theme apart but there are some great goody bags that can be made in keeping with the theme. A train pinata is a great way to get the kids in on the action and having a great time. You may also choose to have all the little ones dress up as a train engineer for a little interactive fun with your train birthday party idea. You can also choose to play a DVD of your favorite train story for the entertainment of the little ones and in hopes of a little bit of quiet time before the sugar induced highs of after cake time.

You'll have no problem finding the perfect cake. There are plenty of cake forms and themes that will fit your party. After you have served that perfect cake with ice cream, head on out to the pinata. The kids will all take turns whacking it until it breaks. You can get pinatas at your party supply shop, along with all the train theme decorations and goody bag fillers.

When you're planning your goody bags, you'll be glad you've chosen this theme. Train goody bags are easy to fill. Puzzles, Whistles, story books, stickers and coloring books all go well in goody bags. Sending goody bags home with your guests is a great way to thank them for coming to your party.

If you'd like to add something really unique to the party, try and find a train museum or a train car where you can host your party. This makes a really special memory for all the children. In some cities you can find trains that run short day trips. This makes a thrilling party experience and you can change your theme to "The Great Escape". Of course, if you do this type of party, it will even work well for older kids. Just remember, you'll have to plan another party next year...and this one is going to hard to top.
